Pink Berry the premium frozen yogurt that reinvented the US frozen yogurt category in West Hollywood, CA in January 2005 .
Guvenc has recently met with the PinkBerry concept through his 9 years old daughter.
The dilemma he has every time he buys some for his girl is how to survive this chain store just by selling frosen yogurt such a traditional product in turkey?
The anwer is the innovation rather than the economies of scale and the power of efficiency..Every time you buy a cup of a frosen yogurt actually you over pay around 105 times per gram compared to regular traditional everyday yogurt..
Is it madness?

I don’t think that, in this case, it is the brand: I asked people around; they haven’t even once heard about the Pink Berry and they are not very excited with the idea of frozen yogurt.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, looking at the photos of servings with so soft and colorful, I can understand why a young girl can be attracted. If this is sort of a regular consumption, then I would wonder if it is triggered by our habit of consuming yogurt daily and pressuring our kids to do the same.
Anyway, now I need to try and decide if it can make me “wow”. Can it be really comparable with “Kanlica” way of having yogurt?!
Just to debate a little, PinkBerry franchise is working very well in Peru, with many stores in Lima. It has a clear target concentrated in female teenagers. In Argentina frozen yogurt was a boom back in the 90s but then died as quickly as it appeared. Not my WOW product but a very good "food for discussion"
